The City of Lakes Family Health Team is a high-paced medical environment seeking an Office Manager to provide support for the Physicians and Integrated Health Professionals at the Val Caron Site.  Key attributes include attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask and to motivate and lead a team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing staff, physician and allied health professionals’ schedules
  • Coordinating schedules for medical residents and students
  • Answering phones and handling patient inquires, and addressing concerns
  • Submitting OHIP, direct and third party billing and forms
  • Maintaining effective communication between doctors and employees while fostering an inclusive and team-based environment
  • Handling incoming correspondence
  • Generating agendas and minutes for physician, team and manager meetings
  • Arranging building maintenance and IT issue solutions
  • Coordinating staff schedules and time sheets
  • Recruiting and training new hires, including contract preparation
  • Providing strong day-to-day direction, feedback and motivation to staff
  • Coordinating and executing regular performance reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of procedures and protocols

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior management experience is required
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred with experience leading a team
  • A post-secondary degree or its equivalent in knowledge and experience is required
  • Computer proficiency and experience with a multitude of software programs
  • Bilingualism considered a strong asset
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records considered a strong asset
