Starting Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Ontario is offering the AstraZeneca (AZ) COVID-19 vaccine to individuals aged 40 and over at pharmacies and primary care settings across the province.
The City of Lakes Family Health Team did receive a very limited supply of AZ vaccine which has now been administered. We do not know when or how many doses of AZ vaccine that we will be receiving in the future.
Our clerical staff have been flooded with phone calls from patients asking when they can receive their vaccine. We ask that you TRY NOT TO CALL OUR CLINICS TO FIND OUT IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A VACCINE. We are encouraging all of our eligible patients to receive the vaccine when it is their turn, and we will do our best to contact eligible patients by email or phone when this information becomes available. All vaccinations are by appointment only.
If you have already received a COVID vaccine, or if you are already booked to receive a vaccine somewhere else, please do not try to book an appointment for this vaccine. If you would like to book an appointment with a local pharmacy who has been approved to administer the AZ vaccine, please go to Ontario Pharmacy Vaccine Locations or refer to the chart below.
