Our Social Worker offers counselling and treatment for mental health issues. This includes: individual counselling/treatment; individual sessions on recovery, self-management of symptoms; a treatment plan and goals in partnership with patients.
Our goal is to improve symptoms and aid in recovery of anxiety and depression or other mental health illness as well as to offer timely access to services.
We can refer patients to community agencies and connect patients with other service providers in the community who provide mental health, addiction and psychiatric services. For patients suffering with a mental health crisis, we offer same day or as soon as available mental health visit to help aid in crisis management.
Mindfulness is a natural human ability, it’s also something you can improve with practice. Mindfulness practice helps us to become fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. This 8 week program will introduce participants to the practice of meditation and yoga. Reduce stress, manage emotions and develop emotional intelligence. “Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment non-judgementally” ~Jon Kabat-Zinn
