In order to enhance access and quality of care for our patients, as well as reducing wait times and unnecessary travel, we offer onsite Telemedicine services through the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN).
Telemedicine is the provision of health care by means of telecommunications and information technology. Our Telemedicine Nurse can schedule appointments with specialists across Ontario such as Psychiatrists, Endocrinologists, Cardiologists, Respirologists,
Dermatologists and Pediatricians.
Our TeleDerm Program allows our providers to take a digital photo of a skin condition and send it electronically to a Dermatologist for a quick diagnosis. Our eConsult program is designed to give providers quick access to a pool of specialists where they can ask questions regarding their patients.
Our Fibromyalgia Workshop, offered through OTN, are run by a team which include a Rheumatologist, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Kinesiologist. The program is designed to help patients gain medical information about their disease; learn about the mechanism of pain and how it can be managed.
We also offer a Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management Course. Attendees learn the principles of mindfulness meditation, the importance of living in the moment, and the power of now, and how these relate to suffering. This 8- week videoconference series uses of guided meditation to teach basic yoga instruction, aid in stress reduction, aid in overall wellbeing and improve self-awareness.
