Dr. Chris McKibbon, Chair of the Board and founder of the City of Lakes FHT, made a presentation to Greater Sudbury City Council on June 11, 2013.
The presentation tracked the progress of the team since its beginnings in 2007. It described the unique features, programs and services offered by the team and the community partnerships that have made them possible. Dr. McKibbon also spoke of the challenges that lay ahead including the completion of the 4-site clinical model originally envisioned with the addition of a new clinic in Chelmsford.
Council asked questions and lauded the excellent work of the family physicians, the interdisciplinary providers and the other staff and volunteers who work together to serve over 16,500 patients across Greater Sudbury.
The City of Greater Sudbury has been an important partner in the creation and ongoing development of the family health team.
