Virtual Care Coordinator

Our Virtual Care Coordinator (VCC) oversees the delivery of high-quality telemedicine & virtual care activities including clinical, educational and administrative services.

The VCC also promotes virtual care to healthcare providers and patients. Virtual care can be done by video, phone or by direct, secure messaging. The VCC oversees all virtual care services, including: operating and maintaining telemedicine and virtual care equipment; initiating the adoption of new virtual care tools; supporting patients to make sure they can login to virtual platforms, assist with trouble shooting and connectivity issues when required; and following up with patients once diagnosis and treatment plans are received. The VCC also manages E-consults and e-referrals.

Telemedicine appointments can be made with a variety of specialists including Psychiatrists, Endocrinologists, Cardiologists, Respirologists, Dermatologists and Pediatricians. The Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) offers many programs including the TeleDerm and eConsult programs. Patients are referred to specialists by their family physician and are seen either onsite at our clinics via OTN’s videoconferencing technology or the patient can connect online from their home computer directly with the specialist.
