The Hypertension Team at our Sudbury Clinic were on hand today to thank a patient for her generous donation.
Elise Filion was honouring a request by her late husband, Richard, to make a donation to the City of Lakes Family Health Team. Richard was a patient of the FHT and was grateful for the care he received there.
Elise and Richard made a donation for the purchase of an automated blood pressure kiosk situated in the reception area of the clinic The easy-to-use kiosk prints out a copy of the BP results that the patient can then share with their health care provider during their appointment.
The purpose of the BP kiosk is to increase the level of BP screening that occurs at the clinic and to empower patients to take responsibility for their health.
